 Heh, that's pretty good. And obviously you get the occasional sports nut who is impressed that I write about football, but generally it means nothing. I have actually used the line that I work for a bridal magazines company, as that actually is the publisher's main business.

Tend to agree with....Collin here. I've always been a little surprised at our fans. I've probably been to about 20 games at BofA. Just seems "quiet." Now, all I have to compare this to is Gamecock games. I've always "heard" that the older teams' fans were more similar to the SEC crowds.

I still don't understand how 1.5 hours away you can pack in 85,000 screaming idiots for a game...and here you get 70,000 people that don't seem to care. I guess it'll just take time. Once today's kids grow up, they'll have an attachment to the teams. Most of today's fans were fans of another team BEFORE the Panthers...

I think this is actually an issue. See, most fans of other teams wouldn't think that you need the team to be playing well to cheer loudly. The idea is sort of the opposite, where the crowd is supposedly helping the team to play better. Charlotte certainly has that sense of entitlement where they feel justified in booing if they're disappointed in the players or in not cheering if the team isn't satisfying them, which again goes back to the whole PSL thing. In college it's an entirely different atmosphere because you feel connected to the team instead of just being a consumer purchasing 60 minutes of entertainment.

I was at the usc auburn game thursday night and it wasnt as loud as I would have expected. It was loud but not twice as loud or anything. I have heard BOA get just as loud during playoffs etc. main difference is that the college crowd stays into the game longer and has the crowd participating in cheers. that was cool.its just a different atmosphere. but the noise level was not as bad as the toothless redneck lady behind me who was screaming and whistling out of control.

I agree with all except what I have highlighted. I think this is the exception and not the rule. I think most fans demand their team to be playing at a decent level or the cheering ceases. I watched the Tampa game for the first time today (I was out of the viewing area for about 10 days) the announcers talked about how quickly the stadium quieted after the first interception.

Well, that was after being blown out in the first two games and getting a touchdown scored on them in the first 56 seconds.

Well Cattrax made me look, but here we go campers. The famed Arrowhead Stadium in September of 2004 with 21 seconds left in the game with Panthers 28 to Chiefs 17. I was actually kind of shocked when I saw it as I forgot how they cleared after the last Panther score because they fed us and made us feel at home I did not want to be a hater.

I do recall the guy they call X-Factor telling me this is why everyone wears the same colors as the seats, so that when they leave it does not look so obvious. Guess when the Panthers do the Blue Pride day it will probably look full even when people clear.

The also famous Inveso Field at Mile High in Denver during a gorgeous October day in 2004. Crowd stuck around, but look closely and notice how the PSL's must have altered the wardrope. No sea of orange jerseys, just people wearing what makes them feel good. Must not be true fans
