1:08 pm | Dan Morgan is out for Sunday's game

    Bob Donnan-US PRESSWIRE
Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Michael Jenkins is tackled by Carolina Panthers safety Mike Minter and linebacker Dan Morgan in the first quarter at Bank of America Stadium.Carolina middle linebacker Dan Morgan, recovering from a concussion suffered in the season opener, missed practice again today, and is listed as out for Sunday’s game on the team’s injury report.

“He seems to be doing fine, just talking to him,” Panthers coach John Fox said. “He’s working out, he’s involved, he’s in meetings, he’s doing everything that all the injured guys are doing.”

Fox said he could not put a target date on Morgan’s return.

In addition to Morgan, tight end Mike Seidman (knee) is listed as out for Sunday. Three more players didn’t practice Wednesday and are questionable for the game—center Justin Hartwig (groin), offensive tackle Todd Fordham (shoulder) and safety Shaun Williams (foot).

Running back Nick Goings (thigh), cornerback Ken Lucas (neck) and wide receiver Steve Smith (hamstring) all practiced and are listed as probable.

I called in to Tiki and Ronde Barber's radio show yesterday and asked their opinions about Dan Morgan specifically, and players with multiple concussions in general. They were non-committal, but basically said that it's an excruciatingly hard choice for a player, and while a man does have a responsibility to be able to care for himself and his family, it's very, very hard to drive the football desire out of a player like Morgan.
