Gross is gross. But Jake should know they are there. Every time he gets pressure from behind it's like he's standing there like a waitor with a tray.

I'm not saying they're wrong and I'm not correcting them for thinking something in the heat of the moment. You're correcting me on the shade of gray I'm using to say Jake was acceptable. You really, truly had a problem with that. Wow. And then you want to make it appear as some sort of old vendetta on my part?

I didn't say "more biased", but that's immaterial.
You've suggested that we might cut him, when there was no reason to suggest it. You've suggested in the past we draft a QB in the first, too. Might have just been falling in love with a guy, but the two in unison suggest that you've generally been unhappy with the guy.

ahh, you're good and rattled, now. I've questioned you on this and now I've gotten you into talking about lies. It doesn't seem as if you've taken to being questioned well.

You always look to attach motives that dont' exist, and that's always fun. For one, I doubt people go around thinking about how I'm more emotional than you. Two, I don't look to piss you off. You corrected me, and you're insufferable when you're not in a bad mood. Three, almost everything positive you listed was pre-contract, which has most certainly colored how you judge him. The only thing after the contract you could really say you raved about was postseason QB rating, so maybe you just have ridiculously high expectations, but you've also seemed averse to wanting to allow people to talk highly of Jake.

throws that didn't connect are automatically overthrown? Got you. :gaga:

Some of the time. And he handled the pressure up front and the blitz well this week, certainly better than last week.

The last fumble is the one that wrankles me. We had no backs to help in protection, knew it had to be a quick route for the 5 yards, and needed to at least get a FG in that situation. Even if he would have gotten sacked we coulda mustered a FG for a 4 pt lead, but he pumped and sat there way too long and then lost the ball to boot. I thought we were done for.

I did like the little draw at the end though. Never saw it coming. It seemed like it took Delhomme 10 minutes to run for that first down ;)

No, if you had said "acceptable" I'd be fine. You said "good," and I disagreed with that. How dare I actually disagree with The Great Magnus.
    For salary cap purposes only.
Wrong. You're talking about the Jason Campbell discussion, which is one of the earlier instances of you accusing me of hating Delhomme. I never, ever suggested that we draft a QB in the first round, but I did say that I'd take Campbell with the 45th pick. I explained why you were wrong then, but apparently you forgot, so here it is again:
Here again you try to portray me as being biased, as you've done with Mangold and Clemens and numerous others, only to find out that I actually wasn't biased all along. I was actually the one who had opinions of those players in line with actual NFL teams, while you were the one who was biased against them.
Yeah, it irritates me when someone outright lies to "win" an argument on the internet.
Biased, not just emotional. I go into histrionics with regularity, but my record of objectively evaluating players is stellar. Yours is horrible, because you make many of your decisions based on what you'd like to see. I hated thinking that Peppers was playing like shit early last year, but he was. Similarly, I would have loved to believe that Foster was as good as his stats suggested late last year, but he wasn't.
You're absolutely right, and I don't blame you for being pissed about that. I blame you for lying in an attempt to attack me to justify your position.
Wrong. I just mentioned that last year in the playoffs I was writing columnists in an attempt to get them to make more notice of Jake's career playoff QB rating. I had said that I was doing so on here, so it was public knowledge. You just choose to forget all the times I've praised Delhomme because you desperately want to believe that I'm just as biased as you have always been. Unfortunately for you, I'm not, which is why I usually beat you in football arguments even though you certainly have more football knowledge than I do.
No, throws that pass over the receiver's head are overthrown.

I think everyone here is used to you telling them that unquantifiable opinions are "wrong" because you disagree. The point here was that you wanted to put this all off on me "trying to piss you off", when you were the one that had the problem with what I said.

so you didn't have much greater expectations because of the contract? Delhomme's contract wasn't outrageous coming into this year and I don't know of anybody else that believed he was going to earn a cut based on cap situations.

Ehh. Don't know about that. Of course, you believe I based my entire evaluation of half the league on trying to go opposite of what you say, which is your first counter to me saying anything you don't like.

Don't remember disagreeing with you on these, so not certain what your point is. I can put up examples of things I felt I was right about that aren't relevant, too.

But then again, you may still believe my problems with Dan Henning's 2002-early 2003 playcalling were all "other factors", too. Couldn't have been that I was unhappy with Henning, or that a lot of people were. Had to be something else.

I'm not pissed, while you certainly seemed annoyed at my first post, and almost immediately accusatory that this was some sort of attempt to piss you off, "mission accomplished", right? Sure doesn't sound like it's me being pissed.

"almost". And that was the only one you listed, which was at the time amongst the best in the league history. So you're happy with Delhomme when he's playing ridiculously above expectation.
actually, it's because you say you've beaten me. In the end, that's your proof. Coincidentally, while it benefits you to state as such, I'm sure you believe yelling louder means you've "won".

and there were less of these in this game than in last game.

yep. you take a shot like that on 3rd down in FG range. You don't take that shot in your own territory up by 1 with 2 minutes to go. At the least, a run forces us to take a timeout, our last.

Magnus and Collin have got to be the greatest 'arguers' on any NFL message board. I wouldn't be suprised to read an article that mentions the two of you. (It would probably be from a Darrin Gantt article)

Gross sucks. Anyone can say what they want, but Delhomme played better this week than he did last. He also has not thrown an INT since week one, and although he has ALWAYS sailed his shit (no shit....this has been appartent since day one, so we need to quite belaboring this point), he made some better throws today than he had the prior two, with just as much pressure coming off the edge. (though, from what I saw, the interior pressure was not as severe today as it was last week)

The empty under center needs to go (unless it a designed QB draw  )

He's not there yet, but he drove us down the field to win the game. That's how many times now since 2003? And yes, Collin, he flaws are apparent.
