After getting a chance to watch both Sunday, and examine thier styles I have come to a comarison/conclusion. Foster reminds me of Antwoine Smith. Decent back but cant beat inital contact usually. Williams is alot like Fred Taylor. Has the hop step, and burst, with nice change of direction. Unless Foster changes/improves, I think we see Willaims starting sooner rather than later. He needs bigger running lanes than Willaims, that I dont think the O-line in its present incarnation can provide. I would much rather see Foster split out as I think he cathes the ball well and is dangerous when he has the ball outside.

Good points, but I think we keep Foster as the starter for psychological reasons as much as anything. Pulling his starting job the first time he's had it would be pretty crushing, and honestly I still think he can do reasonably well if we just don't run him right at the strength of the opposing defense. But I'm right there with you about DW. That guy is special.

We need both guys and DeAngelo's a rook seemingly without the need to have his ego stroked so it's right that the vet carries the title. Foster ran hard the other day, IMO without a lot to show for it. And yeah, DeAngelo is looking great. When we get Smitty back we're gonna have some serious talent on the field.

hmm, with Carter injured, i wouldn't mind seeing lots of sets on passing downs that both feature Foster and Williams. Both of those can be playmakers, put them out there. Both can catch the ball and make something happen in open space. They can also pick up the blitz

pro formation here would be fantastic.

Williams has better vision and follows his blocks better. Foster is not bad either though. It is hard for any back to be successful without a decent OL. We need Hartwig back and healthy in order to get better on offense.

We should do what we did Sunday. Start Foster, and use Williams as the change-up. Whichever guy gets the hot hand, gets the bulk of the carries. Tampa doesn't have two gigantic tackles in the middle, so the interior running should have more success this week, especially if Hartwig is back.

Exactly what I was suggesting split Foster out, let him work some crosses. He should do well with the ball in space against Dbs and LBs.

Williams has the potential to be a huge star. We may end up building our team around him eventually. Foster is not bad when healthy. I think I would have rather let him walk and signed Chester Taylor though.
