Yeah I wouldn't like to see Mathis kicked to the curb just yet, seems like a panic move. Feels like Maser and him have issues, because a lot of guys before him have fucked up multiple times and kept their spot.

Hartwig hasn't knocked me out but I'm not ready to trash him either. I do feel maybe he isn't up to mental speed yet though.

    So yeah, why?

Maybe I drank too much blue Kool Aid, but I was under the impression that Hartwig was going to be night-and-day better than Mitchell. From what I've heard and read, and the little I've seen, Hartwig doesn't seem to be blocking with authority like I'd hoped. It doesn't seem like he's getting much push at all on NTs and DTs, especially in short yardage situations. Maybe I'm wrong about that. I hope so. If not, I hope that's something that comes into his game, and quickly. Lack of interior push was my biggest beef against Mitchell.

Mathis played poorly, but Hangartner didn't look too hot, either. I can't imagine we would be helping ourselves by switching, so I think this is just a motivational tactic by coaching staff.

Yes. I've seen him get whipped several times. He may not have recovered from that hernia surgery. I'm not giving up yet.

    From the Monday presser:

So, reading between the lines.... it's possible Mathis was being disciplined and will be back this week? I still feel like Maser and Mathis are oil + water, and wish to hell we knew exactly what the problem is.

I thought Hartwig was basically signed as = Mitchell. The big difference was that Hartwig was expected to improved while Mitchell was clearly in decline.
