Had a big day for the Rams. Lead the team in tackles, and forced a fumble.

    Just FYI

Unless there was some petition that I missed to keep him in town, I think most everyone in TBR land was acceptant of the Spoon departure. No reason to start bringing up his stats each and every week...

Bordem and a desire to cause trouble is a reason.........

Not saying we could have spent the dough WW got with what we had committed to others, including Morg. But being one who always valued WW>>the oft injured one, I do keep an eye on ol reliable. Sue me.

Yep, certainly was in favor of keeping him over Morgan.... Obviously too much injury history to explain keeping him over Spoon.

I was more in favor of giving Witherspoon a deal at that point since he was RFA, but other than injuries I can't say I chose one over the other 16 months ago. Certainly, with the SLB/Davis arguments, I felt like there was room enough for all three guys.

Like all guys, Witherspoon had his missed assignments. But he was a hell of a linebacker, and our best coverage guy on that level. Hell, he had more deflections than either of our CBs in 05. He'll be missed.

But more than that, it's what we replace him with, just like so many other key losses over the years. I don't know that I would've paid Witherspoon almost $6 mil to stay, even though I rooted like hell for him to stay. We decided to start over, and it'll be a while before we know for certain if we did right in what we did to replace him. Anderson's still learning, and Diggs isn't even healthy.

Either way, when our D played bad, Witherspoon never stood out as exceptional either. When we had problems with gap control, he was as often there, too. It was like he was covering Morgan's ass since Morgan always wanted to play contain instead of gap. I don't think WW solves our problems out there this week, especially since we came out in the 2nd half with good run stopping and even with their lead, didn't do ridiculously bad in the 2nd half. It was just a matter of discipline, and patience, when there were breakdowns. I know the intent wasn't to say "WW would've won this game for us' or anything south of that.

Yep. Sad to see WW go, but hes gone, so no need in wishing, I suppose.

I guess what stings, and whats a sick irony about that, is Morgan going out all fucking ready. I mean....wonder how we can feel about that, after giving him all that money.

And then we told Meadows to fuck off, and Wharton goes down. Jesus fucking CHrist, man.
