Catman did pretty well in his commercial.

Anyone see the NFL commercial with Catman before the kickoff show? They had fans of multiple teams, but Catman got the most airtime and was showing off his bobblehead. I like that we get some exposure, but I'd be more annoyed by that guy's coverage if I didn't know that he was pretty cool. It's still somewhat annoying, though.

Am I the only one who thinks this is a joke. Anyone who saw the game knew that Fox wasn't giving away a car. Every time they mentioned it, they were dripping with sarcasm. And while Fowler quoted one of the lines from Stockton, I don't think he mentioned the other times the guys mentioned it. And I never got the impression that Catman felt like he was duped. Come on, people, get a grip. Fox didn't need to apologize for anything.

What also annoys me is how Catman is somehow now the symbol of Panther fans. Is that what it takes, to dress up in some silly looking outfit, and get season tickets on the front row in the endzone (btw, probably one of the worst seats in the house, in my opinion. Absolutely NO dept perception, so a sweep left or right can look like a 15 yard run).

Here's why Panther fans get no respect: because we whine about a guy getting 'duped' by Fox, we get all up in arms over a stinking theme song, and we vote on what nickname to give our defense

And by the way, speaking of fans who ge dressed up. I went to a Redskin game a couple of years ago. Saw the Hogettes. They sat on their asses the whole game until the cameras panned to them. What a joke.

No, he was definitely duped. I felt bad when I saw it, although it was more because Catman was slow than because Fox was particularly sneaky about it. And I suspected that it was a trick, especially later on, but the first couple of times they said it they sounded fairly serious.

Glad I was at the game and didn't see it. Catman sits 2 sections over from me and didn't notice a thing in his direction other he and the others wanting to start a wave. That annoys me

Catman got props from Stern this morning. Blasted Fox pretty good.

NFL is an entertainment entity. The vast majority of it's audience is on TV. To be a TV star these days all it really takes is to be a lazy ass sitting around an over decorated house for a few months with a bunch of other lazy asses. So riddle me this, why are you confused on this topic?

And as for the seats, as one who sits in nearly the same area as Greg it all depends on what you are looking for. I personally like to feel part of the game and smell the grass, that is what I like about the seats. Anytime I want to see the technical aspect of the game I just go back and watch it on my DVR

What you going to do with that respect? If some beer guzzling Bengal fan respects you, does that make you a better person? To the bowels of hell with the rest of them. We are what we are, and they can kiss our asses all the way to south Florida...I think our fans are just fine, the voting thing you need to hang on the worthless sports media we have around here

They are probably tired. For over 20 years those dudes have raised several million dollars for about 2 dozen children's charities by dressing up.

I think however a fan wants to enjoy the game is fine as far as dressing up etc. There's some other guy who sits on the front row who always paints his face, wears a straw hat and I know folks give him grief sometimes about the face paint being childish etc or "he thinks he's a superstar", but he's there and he's cheering so who does it bother?

It's like the age old wine & cheese issue - yeah they annoy me, but I'm there to see the game and as long as what someone does doesn't prevent me from seeing and enjoying the game, it's all good.
