The Day that Billy Joe McAlister jumped off the Tallahassee Bridge.

    That's a really long title.

    Besides that's not rock.

I can't define it, but I know that Ode to Billy Joe is NOT Rock!
In fact I'm not sure what I would call that song. County?
The story intrigued me, but it's defeintly not rock.

It was the 3rd of June, another dusty Springfield day.

    I was out shoppin'-cartin'

    :
Ol' Billie Joe never licked her since.
    or was it

Ol' Billie Joe never had a liquor since

I don't know that I can really narrow it down to just one. I think "American Woman" by Guess Who would have to be right up there. "Born To Be Wild" by Steppenwolf is another. "Under My Thumb" and "Honkytonk Woman" by the Rolling Stones deserve consideration. You could probably throw Springsteen's "Born to Run" in there. Those, to me, are classic Rock'n'roll songs.

How about Harper Valley PTA? That one always got me going.

Or Snoopy vs. The Red Baron.
