We don't have anybody else that is proficient at it. Not something to experiment with.

I am teaching a few of my kids to longsnap even though we kick FG's from the tee and start the punt from the punters hands. Told all of them how guys are getting college scholarships to do nothing but long snap and how guys are making just under a million a year to do it in the Pro's.

Shit, I might start putting some weight back on and give it a shot myself.

Good deal for a kid with enough atheleticism to play HS football but not beyond.

Yes, it is necessary, and I wish people would stop bitching about it every August. Every team has a long snapper.

Brian Kinchen could snap and was a situational blocker, but in general snappers don't have much use other than snapping and coverage. And that's allright, remember Jerry Jensen?

I was wondering the same thing on another thread Sav. I was thinking it shouldn't be too hard to teach anybody to do it.

I was convinced PDQ... if it ain't broke, don't fix it. And I got to admit, it sure as hell ain't broke.

Damn, looks like if somebody wants to play in the nfl... just learn to long snap!

Lets see... I'm fat, old, outta shape, slow as pond water, have bad eyesight(yes, I quit when I got the glasses), and I smoke, ... ahhh fuggitaboutit.

then why not just teach punters to kick FG's, or kickers to punt?

...because it's harder than you think
