    Not sure what "post hoc ergo propter hoc" means but Smitty led the team in yardage (not just WRs) and was #2 in receptions in 2002, the year before Jake showed up.

    It translates to something like "after this, therefore because of this"

    Another way of saying it is "correlation implies causation"

    Or in layman's terms, just because thing A happened at the same time as thing B, thing B wasn't necessarily caused by thing A.
