Coach K and USA Basketball

Pretty much a win-win for duke fans. If he wins with this team, he's done what George Karl and Larry Brown couldn't do. He also proves he can coach NBA talent and not just ruin college players. Also, he can win without "getting all the calls."

Should be interesting. Wonder how many Carowhina fans will pull against teams USA?

they did great. kicking PR's butt was pretty cool to see. but, as a carolina fan, i think if anybody's against the usa baketball team they're a unamerican retard and if they don't have respect for an all-american team then get the hell out of the best country in the world. but not to get off topic, the american basketball team did a great job and i hope they go and compete for the gold. they are no. 1 on my list. this is the best team i have seen in a while. having lebron, wade, anthony, and all the other big boom boom players.

 

dont be a retard. its USA, not Duke vs Carolina. Besides Antawn Jamison is on the team. those guys will win if they want to. no rah-rah shit from K is gonna motivate these guys. they are NBA players, and K is little more than a coach in name only. same applys to Larry Brown or anybody else "coaching" team USA.

Coach K has them boys playing defense. Way different than Karl when all he wants to do is blame players (when has he not blamed players...its never his fault) or Larry Brown who used his bench NONE.

well, if he loses he'll be on the same level as george karl and the great larry brown. i can't imagine he'll do worse than either one of them did. so, only positives or neutrals can come out of this unless the whole team refuses to play for him.

 

the fact that USA lost last time is the main motivating factor for these players. it doesnt matter if its K or anybody else(not saying K cant coach). the 04 team qualified for Athens, but when the time came to play 10 out of 12 players decided not to go. they threw a shitty team together (that still should have won). just saying its a team of individual talents with their own agendas, not a real "team" that has played together for any period of time.

 

that's the main reason i'm actually pulling for this team. no ray allen's saying that they need to be paid for playing in the world championships. just back to basics basketball with role players (bowen and battier) mixed in with the superstars. i guarantee these guys will come out of this with more respect for coach k than they did with karl or brown.
