    the encryption looks like "static" so that you don't know if there's data until you get a password and turn it into readable data. you can put a chunk of encrypted data hidden inside your encrypted filesystem. without a password, that hidden chunk looks like nothing so nobody even knows to look for it.

    the adversary in question might be the gov't looking for your child-porn cache.

    Heck I back mine up to a rewriteable CD every 2 weeks. I would be lost without mine, So much work stuff on it
