    Props on dissing Linux.

HP Servers used to SUCK, then they bought Compaq. Compaq was always top of the heap... The HP line was dumped, and history re-written.

Dell servers used to SUCK, low quality along with the low price, but they are pretty damn strong now.

IBM servers have always sucked, and likely always will. Plasticy, breaky, poor quality on arrival, just basically bad news.

And that's the world of servers according to Bootay.

I've alays worked on Windows servers from the aspect of ASP & ASP.NET & SQL Server. For a brief period I developed and maintained a site on Linux/Apache. It was like heaven compared to windows servers.

I've worked on both too, with Linux/Apache/Tomcat/MySQL to make a matching stack to the Windows platform. The MySQL platform was limited as hell, Apache is a memory-leaking hose-beast that masks the problem by spawning and killing processes constantly, etc.

I won't even argue for MySQL for a second, never used it. Even then we used Sql Server. However apache was easy to configure and was the fastest web server I've experienced. I really don't care what it has to do in order to acheive that.

No, it was a data driven coldfusion internet site on the same server as several other applications used by physicians around the country to access clinical trials info. It was fast and it was easy to administer.

Coldfusion is never fast...compared to other options.

If it served your needs, great.
