Carolina up 1-0, but already 2 questionable off-sides calls against Carolina, and now a "boarding" penalty on Kaberle--when the player was sideways next to him....Canes can beat Buffalo, but not Buffalo AND the refs....sheesh.

thought we might have had that 5 on 3 beat, with the way we played, but no.
We dominated though. Hopefully we can take that up to buffalo and take one.

I hope you're joking. Bad calls went both ways. Since when do you get to horsecollar a guy after the whistle, rip his helment off and throw him to the ice?

It was pretty obvious the Canes had a lot more energy than Buffalo in that game. Much more of a sense of urgency for the home team. Sabres need to get Numminen healthy, 'cause playing with five defensemen ain't gonna cut it against Carolina.

agree about the horsecollar. we were lucky (?) that wasn't called.

Urgency - yes, we played like a team that could not survive going 0-2 at home. Not this round. Glad we arent in Anaheims position. I think whichever team from the east goes to the final takes the cup.

amazing. I read a lot of the same sentiment after Ottawa won game four in Buffalo. Not saying that the Sabres should be favored in this series, but they've always followed up a poor performance like last night's with solid play. you get to a conf. finals series and it's all about making adjustments. The Canes made adjustments -- more aggressive and physical play, more traffic in front of the net, limiting Buffalo's odd-man rush opportunities -- and the difference was obvious. I think the Sens took Buffalo lightly. Carolina didn't. I may be wrong, but I can't see the Canes dominating play in games 3 and 4 like they did in game 2.
