I would if I had a dual layer blank. Originals are dual layered and would require another dual layer. He said the duplicator copies everything on the disc so unless you want multiple copies of one movie it isn't worth it. When the Dual layer blanks get cheaper (cheapest I have seen them for is around 1.30 for 50) I may buy one of these then.

When you make a copy of a copy do you still need to decrypt and shrink/copy or just a copy and paste since I am assuming the encryptions are stripped

So, you really don't understand "DECRYPTING and SHRINK/ENCODE".

When you DECRYPT on your PC, you are removing the ENCRYPTION. The copy you make is no longer encrypted.
When you shrink and re-encode the DVD to fit on a single-layer DVD, it is shrunk and won't need to be shrunk/encoded again.

Therefore, making a copy of a copy is just copying the bits from one disk to the next, the limiting factor is just how fast you can read the DVD and how fast your writer can put the bits on the new disc.

So, his copy of a copy is not very impressive, you can do EXACTLY THE SAME THING on your home PC.

    Wow.

    To your level no
So then your not impressed it can copy a encrypted original to a dual layer blank in a lot less time than a home PC? How fast does it take you to take an original and have a copy in your hand? This will do the process in 15 minutes, per him. I only saw him do a copy. He told me he has taken originals and copied them in 15 minutes. I agree unless your going to make multiple copies of one movie which I doubt any of us do it might not be practicle but being able to drop the original and a blank in and having the finished product in ~25% the time a PC copied movie is interesting.

Once again, I've lost IQ points reading a PP tech thread. I'm running on fumes now.
