    UPDATE: Panthers won't match Manning's offer


    As expected, the Carolina Panthers will not match the Chicago Bears' offer sheet to restricted free agent Ricky Manning, team officials said.

    The Bears signed Manning to an offer sheet for five years and up to $21 million on Friday. Manning was arrested for assualt in Los Angeles on Sunday morning police said and released on bail.

    As compensation for Manning, the Panthers will receive Chicago's third-round pick (88th overall) in this year's draft
