Ya know, I think it's just them now. Chester was there, with Jay Williams and Howard. And the world famous Joe Berger.

I'm not getting the whole Manning Jr. is better than a 3rd round pick rationale...Manning Jr. was a 3rd round pick himself. Now, if people were saying that even though RMJ was a 3rd round pick, by virtue of being veteran, he's better than having a rookie 3rd round pick.

but you mite think about our 3rds that were busts or never saw the field much. manning was a solid nickle back who has the talent to continue to improve. (i'm expecting we will be worse there with this turn of events.) there are no assurances we will get as decent a player. course, we mite get better or parlay the pick to move up in the 1st or 2nd round. (though i like where we sit in both rounds, if anything i'd like to trade our both 3's to get into the second again ... but you have to find a willing dumbass to trade with.

Its fair to say Manning will likely be a better Nickle than Howard or any rook we pick up with that third.

But he just wasn't worth that much money, even with de-escalators. We have our starters.

So do the Bears. Tillman had a down season, big deal. He's still enormously talented and has proven that he can play at a very high level.

They could try Wesley at S, while rotating Manning and Tillman at corner. Just a thought. But it is a pretty odd move by Chicago.
