    They're just putting themselves in a position where they can draft the best available player.

    Yeah, you should have heard the grumbling around Clemson (among the few pro football/Panthers fans) when we cut Buckner. The move made total sense from an organization standpoint, but to the rose-colored glasses Tiger faithful, it was a bad move. I think the reason the Panthers have such a stigma in this area is due to the number of Game Cocks we've had on the roster over the years. By signing Adams, the greater Clemson area might of just retained the 10 or so fair-weather Panthers' fans that clung on by Buckner's presence.

    Oh. I thought it dated back to the fact that Williams-Bryce was the Panthers' first choice for the first-season home games.

    Yeah, that could be it too, but most people around here are either too young or have forgotten about the 1995 season being played in Clemson.

    Oh yeah, Charlie Whitehurst is going in the first round! (Really, most people around here honestly think that.) :imagestor

    in Columbia there are people who dislike the Panthers because they played at Clemson and not Williams Bryce. there are people who dislike the Panthers because the stadium was not built at Carowinds/state line , therefore viewing the team as NC's, or Charlotte's team. they would drive 82 miles, but not 90 to go see the Panthers. there are people who dont like the Panthers because they are in Charlotte, and Charlotte bought up all the banks in SC.

    there are some fuckin retards in SC.

    All I can say is that I hope the signing of Adams will help to seal the chasm that started all those years ago. The people of the Carolinas deserve better.
