Richard Seymour, and Casey Hampton was 19th as a NT. It's rare, of course. And I'd agree overall that Bunkley should be a 4-3 guy, but he could do the 3-4, of course.

Marcus Spears and Travis Johnson were both drafted top-20 as DE's in a 3-4 scheme. However, each were bigger. Maybe they were close to 284 at the combine, but each are listed at over 300 now. I think at 284, he would have trouble at DE.

Since there are no decent CBs or WRs on the board

Kansas City selects Gabe Watson, DT, Michigan

So do I; it's definitely not the most bang for the buck, but I still think it could work, and work well. How would he compare to Richard Seymour's role in NE?

Sixteen pounds is almost nothing to a player in the trenches, especially for a rookie. Regardless of where he goes, Bunkley will probably pick up ten of that in the weight room alone this summer. Besides, he's got beastly strength already (44 reps), so that should help him against a lot of the mid-level OL he'll face his rookie year.

heh. No kidding. It was either him or Manny Lawson, who'd be a reach, or a huge reach for a CB.

yeah, I had to reach, too, both picks. Needs were ass compared to what was there. None of these teams need the best guys out there.
