If Foxy really said that, then props to Mags.

And props to Fox. 'Run the Ball' has been what he's preached since his first presser.

Run the ball, stop the run, be tough, be smart.

I hope we get another back. And I hope we run them 300 times.

It would be kind of stupid for Fox to say something like that. I mean, say we draft him, he's gonna be looking for a huge contract thinking 4 years and retirement.

That's one way to see it.

Alot of reasons for that comment:

1 - Guage the player's reaction to see what his mindset is. That's huge. Stephen Davis would've said he still wouldn't get the rock enough.

2 - Let him know it doesn't matter that we just gave Foster $$ - you'll get your carries too.

3 - It could've also been a response to LenDale asking a question.

4 - It indicates honesty - and an expectation of honesty from White.

    Lots of reasons.....

I think this is just an example of John being a players coach. By being open and honest with guys it breeds a friendship and builds trust. It's not like it's something he won't realize very quickly or cause him to say he's getting the ball too much.

Aren't lower draft picks kind of slotted when it comes to money. I know there is some wiggle room but a scale is kinda set based on the pick.

There is kind of a scale, but guys have tried to get more in the past. Gamble tried to get equal pay to where he THOUGHT he should have been drafted, I am thinking it was the same as a guy drafted about 5 spots higher. Others have tried to pull that as well, some succeed.

Agreed. He looked pudgy, even by his standards.
