Have you seen his Snapper mower commercial. I just love that old dude's line at the end . . . "You missed the end zone . . . again!"

He might as well come back. If football was totally out of his system, he would have called it quits by now. Fucking with everybody's head might tarnish his legacy even more than another losing season.

The one thing that all this indecision screams out is that Favre is less than 100% committed to leading the Green Bay Packers. For me, it's that simple. HOFer or no, you can't be successful with a quarterback who's less than fully committed to the team. It just doesn't work, especially on that team.

It's not like Favre doesn't know what to expect. It's almost a statistical certainty that he's not going to get another ring in Green Bay, so then it really just boils down to whether or not you want to put in all the work for the love of the game itself. If you have to think about it that hard, you don't want it bad enough.

"I'll come back but only if we're half decent" That doesn't exactly tell your teammates that you're ready to give all and at least set the goal of the Super Bowl (as every team supposedly does at the beginning of the season).

While anything is possible, the chances are less likely GB will make the SB this coming season. It takes time to rebuild, and though they might be better off then the 1-15 Panthers (can I have that memory removed from my brain cells) they still have more then one or two holes to fill. So I'd wonder would he play for them if they're 8-8?, 7-9? what is his standard of competitive and successful? I'd say if he wants playoffs PERIOD, he needs to hang it up because they sure could do it, but chances are just as good they may not.

I'm starting to think those saying he WANTS to be cut are right. But where does he go that he's not a back up? If you love the GB organization, why not go there and play and help a new young guy along and then be back up next season? I guess the days of spending your whole career in one place and being a die hard "whomever" are long gone.
