Why wouldn't you just slip the belt back on around the platter or pulley?

it's just not obvious where the belt goes .. i know where the one pulley is but at the other end it like goes under stuff that i can't see under... and it's just way too long so must wrap around stuff twice

i have a shitload of cd players but a lot of indie bands i listen to release stuff on vinyl plus i got my brother in laws record collection left to me when he died so it's only right i play them...

    What kind is it?

For those with the funny '90s, CD player comments...check out the science of turntables (the Rockport Sirius is $72,000, the Contiuum and Blue Pearl turntables are $90,000...gets you a turntable, base, and tonearm...not a cartridge, or what you would call a needle...that would set you back another $5-10k)
