MIAMI senior cornerback/return man TANARD DAVIS has reported to the NLS Staff that he has been contacted by at least six teams, including Miami, Kansas City, Carolina, Chicago, NY Jets and Indianapolis, a private workout that was scheduled for Friday, March 24th was cancelled due to the poor weather conditions (rain).

“But Hester wasn't the fastest Hurricane working out for the pros on Sunday (by the way, all 32 teams were present, over 100 scouts and four executives). I'm betting you can't guess who was? It was reserve cornerback Tanard Davis, also a UM standout track athlete. Davis had an excellent workout. He ran a 4.25 40-time, posted a 41 1/2 inch vertical and benched 225 16-times, which is pretty good for a defensive back. I often wonder how well he would have performed if the NCAA allowed him to transfer to Howard last season and keep his scholarship because he's a good athlete.”

Oh my. If he can play, he'd be very interesting. 4.2 is supposed to be world class.

Only three players in NFL history that I can think of that were clocked faster than that are Darryl Green, Deion Sanders, and Michael Vick. There could be others and probably are (Dante Hall maybe?), but even so, that's nice company to be in.

*OHIO U. senior cornerback DION BYRUM has three Pro Day dates setup over the next few weeks... March 15th (12pm), March 24th (11am), and March 29th (12pm)... Carolina, Chicago and Jacksonville have all shown plenty of interest in the All-American defensive back.
