    Pats on Proehl’s list
Alan Herman, the agent for free-agent receiver Ricky Proehl, said the 16-year veteran will not return to the Panthers and that “New England certainly would be a place Ricky would consider.”

I guess this means Ricky wants to play even if it is not for the Panthers. His agent is actively shopping his client.

I wish him luck but think the Panthers are better off.

that pairing makes sense, although they still have Troy Brown so it's bizarre. Brown fits that same role but returns punts as well.

I wish him all the luck.

Last year at training camp I thanked him personally for coming back. And just last week when it appeared we didn't have a space for him, I thought he should go somewhere else if he still wants to play.

I still hope he comes back as a position coach in the future, and I hope he keeps his season tickets.

Best of luck Ricky. Hope you don't screw us in the SB.

Proehl was the man. I believe he ran out of gas last year and is average now at best. Sure he's a vet, a good dood and all, but I would wager this year he could not beat out anybody we have at the moment. Would he make a catch or two a the most opportune moment for a winning TD or 1st down? Sure. But overall, he's gotten real slow, does not like to catch in traffic and he can't, unfortunately, be counted on for full time PT if he's needed.

Side's, it's awful wierd he'd be all wantin to retire last year and we had to pursuade him to come back, yet a year later and a year older, he'd offer to go somewhere else and have to relearn a new system and for sure be a 4rth at best.

But, I do like the dood, we just gotta get better at wideout cause we don't know what the fuk a TE does other than block and play HB.

Hell, Key was prolly hired to run the routes TE's do anyway.

Last year, he was just as productive as in '03. I don't think he's tailed off too much. I do, however, think that it's probably best to move on, for him and for us.

As long as he doesn't sign with Tampa, Atlanta, or New Orleans. :banginghe

I thought his play slipped dramatically last year. But he finally turned it back on the last 2 or 3 games.

It was time to move on.

But i loved the dude, he started that remarkable 03 season.

    Good times. :)

He sure did a lot for us to have come here at the tail end of his career. I am surprised he wanted to play that bad this year since he almost retired last year.
