I'd like formally revise and extend my remarks... :banginghe

With Buckner gone and Jenkins not having played in two years I got to believe that "the game is won at the line" Panthers are going to be looking for a stud. I believe they honestly love having people point to our dominant front four. No question we didn't hit the mark last year. Jenks back along side a VERY talented rookie might be nice. And IF the rumors coming out that our Oline coach likes what he has on the bench I could see us waiting for a while and picking up a utility o-lineman.

I'd believe that they'd have to pass on a number of available FAs to draft a first rounder. A 1st (or 2nd) would work very well because that player can liberally rotate, assuming all are healthy, and then work into the equation by next year at worst.

Plus, as I project it right now, Ngata and Bunkley will be gone, leaving us with an inconsistent Wright or a run-only Watson at that pick. I could deal with either, but I'd rather have something a little better at that pick.

Love the moves but now that we have both DL and a Center locked up, that leave only the right guard position a question. Seems like you can get one of those later or go with our current bench. At this point, I have no idea what we might be targeting. Maybe those who early on projected TE had it right. I'm sure we'll draft another safety, RB, LB, and WR but when? Who knows.

Don't forget Evan Mathis. He seems poised to take over the RG slot. Hopefully he can do so successfully.

27 Bobby Carpenter - probably starter from day one, at worst good depth
58 Maurice Drew - need depth
88 Maurice Stovall - key or not he is a good value here

Wow, Drew lasts to then? One could hope.

Honestly I'm still a little surprised that Drew is getting hype that far up, since I've been behind him since way before combine. But, he's not going to last to 3 anyway.

Agreed. I was probably mentioning him before anyone, but I wouldn't go into the second round for a guy who might not be a full-time runner for us given that we don't run an offense that would utilize his pass catching abilities enough to make him worth the pick. If he fell to the third, I'd be all over that, but it looks like it won't happen.

Hmm, not sure. I believe Drew's hype. If it were me and he was around in the 2nd I'm thinking I'd make the grab. Hell, Shelton was our second last year and you could definitely argue HE didn't play fulltime. ;)
