Panthers | Team interested in Bruce
    Thu, 9 Mar 2006 05:54:55 -0800

Jim Thomas, of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, reports the Carolina Panthers are now the fifth team to express an interest in free agent WR Isaac Bruce (Rams), according to sources. The Panthers have been looking for a pass-catching complement to WR Steve Smith since the departure of WR Muhsin Muhammad to Chicago a year ago.

Not a bad #2 for a couple years, plus he's got the experience to help team the younger guys. They've also got Proehl who may or may not be friends with Bruce that could affect the decision. (I know Proehl is a FA, but I honestly gotta think they would resign him.)

New HC, losing team last year. Might prefer to play on a team that has a shot.

    no, I hadn't.

$10 mil cap charge coming up, so he had to go.

    I'd take him, though.

I know it's only fodder we're fed. With everything I have read regarding Proehl if he is not resigned, a serious coaching offer should be made to him.

    :agreed:

Either as a coach or in some capacity with the FO. I'd like to see Ricky as a part of this organization for eternity. He embodies what Richardson wants the organization to be.
