After staying up half the night I finally was able to get rid of That one. Now it is coming up as system32/lich.exe So far I can not just delete that file as it says it is being used by another program. I did a system virus scan and it says there is one and it is quarentined. Little good that does as it still wants to pop up. Brain suggest booting up in safe mode and delete it there. Problem is when I boot up I am pressing F8 and it doesn't boot up in safe mode. Does multiple accounts on XP keep you from booting up in safe mode? I press F8 through out the boot up process and it didn't happen.

Multiple accounts in XP does not keep you from using safe mode. You may be waiting too late to press F8.

Safe mode does not run services, and the worst spywares recreate themselves in some form if you get rid of them, but only because a service is running. Once you get rid of it in safe mode, it will help you get rid of the leftover traces in normal mode.

Do a search and see if you have " pg4ds32m " on your computer. If not, (winXP) hit the start button, choose Run, type in msconfig, hit the startup tab and post whatever you find. Some of those Adware worms change their name.

I talked to a IT guy here and he said that some boxes have F6 as the button to go into safe mode on bootup. Sound reasonable?

F8 provides a menu to choose Safe Mode. XP Help doesn't say anything about F6.

The easiest way to boot up in safe mode with WinXP is:

    Click on the start button.
    Click on Run.
    Type in MSCONFIG.
    Click the BOOT.INI tab.
    Click on the /SAFEBOOT box.
    Then click on Apply.
A box will come up asking you if you want to RESTART.
    You do.
After you do what you need to do in Safemode, just repeat the above instructions and uncheck the /SAFEBOOT box.

When you get back into normal mode, a box will come up, basically it's just MSCONFIG again. Just hit the cancel button, makeing sure the /SAFEBOOT box is still unchecked.

edited to add: Where can I send the bill. :woot:
