Musgrave was instrumental in developing Beuerlein here, and leading him to his best years. Musgrave is a damn fine QBs coach, and while I think he may be a piece of dirt, I cant say he sucks.

Im hating it that hes with Vick, personally.

    Purrss is right

You are correct, Purrss. . . Panthers players gave Musgrave huge amounts of credit for calling plays, etc., during seasons in which Haskell was actually the offensive coordinator. . . The subsequent rift with Seifert, and Musgrave's abrubt departure, was never really explained, or at least I don't recall it.

I know he constantly gets credit for that, but beyond my well known disbelief about a coach dramatically changing a veteran quarterback, didn't Musgrave only get here in '99? That was Beuerlein's dynamite season and I'm certainly not averse to giving Musgrave some credit for that in terms of play-calling, but Steve had good QB ratings throughout his time with the Panthers. The real difference in '99 wasn't Beuerlein somehow getting much better, but rather getting the full-time opportunity in a heavily pass-oriented offense.

I think highly of him, even though he stomped off in a hissy fit after everyone called him out for the Dallas call on 4th and 1.

But he's a WCO guy. He's not going to make an appreciable difference on a player that doesn't want to run the system, and that's what Vick and Mora have to deal with.

So you have Mora who has been known to throw a hissy fit, Vick who gets pouty and now you throw in Musgrave? Could be an interesting side line.
