Well, the fact that an NHL coach and fellow coach have ties to a mob gambling ring just doesn’t sit right…even if he didn’t bet on hockey.

What’s funny, the NHL is having league meetings in las vegas right now.

As of right now, the only alleged connection Gretzky has to all this is he talked with Tocchet about how his wife's name could be kept out of the entire mess.

That constitutes "ties to mob gambling"?

    OK then.

It might play out differently in the long run, but the only thing I see right now is a guy whose wife got herself into trouble and he tried to help her out.

helping her out or letting her take the fall...that's what I want to know.

I’d be interested to know how long this has been going on…all Rose did was bet too and he did two years for tax evasion. If wayne did in fact know about this and didn’t report it on his taxes…then that too is tax evasion.

when toch was ‘too stupid’ to fill out a line up card earlier in the year forcing his team to play with 17 players….maybe not so stupid afterall.

I agree with all that. But right now there are a lot of people assuming he was betting on hockey and/or embroiled in some mob-run gambling ring. It's possibile, but to me it's plausible that he was just trying to get his old lady out of a jam/keep her name out of things.
