“Action News has learned that the ring could also be linked to former Philadelphia Flyer Mark Recchi - who now plays for the Pittsburgh Penguins, Janet Jones - who is the wife of hockey legend Wayne Gretzky, and the ring could be tied to the crime family of Bruno Scarfo.”

The bets through betzkey’s wife were his….how many chicks bet on sports with mobsters?

If they just bet on football, then it isn’t that big of a deal….the mob ties are interesting. Bruno did however play for moose jaw in the early 80’s.

Betzkey was actually going to let tocchet coach last night, the league had to step in.

even if the bets were his, so what? he wasn't betting on his sport....same as you and me making a bet. problem is, the whole "ring" thing connected to Tocchet. That ain't good.

Yeah…that’s what they are saying….he was financing an illegal mob gambling ring with a dirty NJ state trooper…that is just a little different than making a casual bet.

Although that trooper did have two plasma TVs in his bathroom…can’t be that bad of a guy.

Something tells me if they were betting on football & basketball it is not out of the realm of possibility that they may have actually bet on hockey as well...we'll see where this goes over the next few days.

Janet is probably happy because she is being referred to as an ‘actor’ again.

Apparently they have taped recordings between betzkey and toch talking about betzkey’s wife’s bets….so betz lied when he said he didn’t know anything about it.

She was dropping some serious money on football bets.

If all he did was try to keep his wife from being implicated, I can't fault the guy. It's his wife and the mother of his kids. any husband/father worth a shit would want to help her out. And the first natural impulse is to deny knowledge, especially if he's trying to protect his wife. Assuming he didn't bet on HOCKEY games, he'll come away with his image somewhat tarnished, through no real fault of his own. Other than that, I don't see a real big problem.
