They don't make anywhere close to that. There is no money in radio unless you are syndicated nationally and even then very few get paid. I knew what Packer was paid when he was with Penner and it is a fraction of what you think it is. The base salary for the MSP guys is closer to 50K than anything else.

If Packer is only getting about 4000 listeners locally in his peak hour, what do you think the morning guys are hitting? You can add a few extra listeners for the lame sydicated markets but that is all. You don't make any money hitting that number of listeners.

I'd guess they'd make more than 50k for their morning show. They are syndicated, maybe not as much as Primetime, but they are syndicated. And like Primetime, they use both 610 and 1660 for their show. If Packer is making a base of 250k (or something around there), I'd guess that the morning guys make something pretty nice, but again, it's just a guess.

$250K?? Are you kidding me? Not even close.

There is no money in local drive time radio for guys like them. Being syndicated in the places they are sydicated makes almost no difference.

You have to remember that the MSP guys only have 2-3K listeners at their peak time. Who the fuck would pay 2 guys over 100K each for that. Advertising costs about nothing during those hours. Have you ever listened to the ads played during that show and even Packers show?

    Thank god for sirius radio.

"Earlier this year, Packer signed a new five-year contract with WFNZ for his weekday show, Primetime with the Packman. The deal is worth $250,000 annually. "

And WFNZ is the 3rd rated station in the male 25-54 demographic with 6+ points. So I would think that MSP has 10k listeners plus.

Yeah, but most of that money is earned from him washing DJ Stout's car, not from the radio show.

Well, I know that Packer's show was only hitting about 3-4K listeners during peak hours in the Charlotte area, so it would be ridiculous to think that the MSP is getting any more than that including their lame syndicated markets.

Yeah, but that is no through base salary. It's like how Bobby Lutz is making 500K/year when his base salary is only 125K.

The majority of that 250K is coming from endorsements and appearences.
