Loved seeing him in action against Chicago. He made the first guy miss on the WR screen and took off. Makes it hard to double smitty.

And load the box. ( haha 'load the box' ).

Looking forward to he and Jake getting more reps and improving their chemistry. His hands and timing still need some work, but he's the tallest and the fastest wide receiver we have.

Come next year, he might be Jake Reed or he might be Reggie Jones.

I don't think you'll see Seattle bring an extra safety into the box. It's almost impossible to do that and double Smith, unless you vacate a good part of the deep zones. From what I've seen on film the Seahawks rely on blitzing linebackers to stop the run by disrupting blocking schemes as they get going. Theoretically that should be especially effective against us, given that our running plays often take so long to develop, so I'll be interested to see what adjustments Henning comes up with. Honestly I wouldn't mind going into some two TE sets with either Hoover or Goings as the single-back, as those would allow us to hit the hole quicker and perhaps get away from some of their rush.

if they bring a safety into the box, i think you will see us taking multiple shots down the field with both steve and drew. it has been obvious that we want to send #18 deep at least once a game. it has shown to be pretty effective...even though we didn't get the PI this past week.

i can't decide what we need to do about running the football. their LB's concern me there. i think it is very possible that we commit more to the passing game early on. at the end of the day, our offense will revolve around how seattle defenses #89.

Take the shots early in the game. Smitty will make the catch 90% of the time. If we get lucky Carter makes the catch, then they will have to back off. I really would like for Drew to have a big game. He should have got the interference call against the Bears. But even if he doesn't catch it, with his speed alot of DB's will be grabbing some jersey, and we get the ball down the field that way. It's amazing how Smiity can make some of the best players in the NFL look like high school DB's.

I wish DC would be more aggressive when going after the ball. It would instantly make him a much greater threat.

Considering what happened in Chicago, do you think SEA will focus more on coverage (especially deep) than trying to stop the run? In other words, do you think they'll try to shut Smitty down and make Goings beat them with the run?

Too one dimensional. We'll run all over them. I think I offense is in it's prime right now. I hate that we lost Foster but Goings should roll considering all the attention they'll be giving Smith. Plus our OL is opening holes that I could run through... sideways.

Seattle had the second best run defense in the NFC, so don't assume anything. Granted, a lot of that was with run blitzing linebackers, but since we don't use the TE enough to keep them honest, I imagine they'll do that against us too, especially since most teams figure their best chance is to pressure Jake. I think they'll approach us the way they did most teams, with a lot of blitzes in front of umbrella coverage.

RB screens could be HUGE considering the LBers blitzing as much as they do.
