on the Bears coaching staff? Why would they put so much in Grossmans hands in the 1st half rather than continue to do what brought you there. Run the ball. The Panthers came to play but the Bears helped us out bt continuing to tell Grossman to throw instead of grinding the ball with Jones. 20 carries for 80 yards for a 4 yard average? Come on Lovie should have done differently IMO

Didn't Mr. Smith get the COY award?

Think any of those voters might be second guessing their choice about now?

Remember, Foxy beat down Lovie in St. Louis in the div. game in '03/'04. Does X-Clown ring a bell?

Lovie should give back his COY award. I bought into that hype, but Lovie apparently thought Rex Grossman's decent game vs the Packers would translate into an early lead. When Turner gave his plan for the week, he should have kicked his ass. 15 of their first 21 plays were passes. And it got them 2 yards passing at that point.

Their passing game was awful early - it did get better, and most of you would agree that it was a bit better than you'd have expected from Rex.

I can't fault him too much, he should've gone to the run more, but they felt like they could get yards in the pass. Plus, most coaches do tend to...
I don't want to say 'panic', but they do push their tempo toward the game tempo rather than trying to dictate. It did cost them, yeah.

I actually thought the gameplan was good, as far as getting Grossman loose early on. Problem is that they immediately sucked on defense, and I don't think they were counting on that.

The kid was really lucky some of his passes hit the ground, we should have snagged at least two early.

That whole Bears team fought hard. They took our best shot and wouldn't stay down. I actually have more respect for them now than I did. Prob the best game Lovie coached all year...

and we all know if the Panthers had been pick to go 3-13 with a second year HC and we win a 1st round bye in the play-offs, we're all going to be hollering for COY award

I can think of three off the top of my head. The third play of the game Lucas had one that just went off his hands. The Wallace tip, the busted screen play where Morgan was throwing him down.

Game really should not have been as close as it was.

for one game (2 if you count vikings blunder for not starting rex)? the man took a team predicted to finish last in the NFC North in his 2nd year from 5-11 to 11-5 with not much on the roster at qb. lost his starting qb in preseason and went with a rookie. started 1-3 but 10-5 with that same qb? and delivered the no 2 seed in the conference?
