Peppers admits to "spying" Tiki???

    well you don't exactly "spy" a RB. Generally someone has him in most defensive formations anyways. You spy a QB, because he's an x factor. A RB, WR, and TE you can expect to get the ball, but a QB draw isn't always expected. When you have a QB that regularly runs you basically put a man on him waiting for the run.

    Yeah, that's my understanding as well which is why I agreed with the "experts." So did Peppers just use the term incorrectly?

    probably. I'm assuming he basically meant we all just kept an extra eye toward Tiki.

    Yeah, that's what he meant, Scope. If you look at the tape, we never did have a LB mirror Tiki, so it wasn't a "spy" in the sense that the term was initially used. ;)

    When the player of interest is not a QB, the term is usually key as in we were keying on Tiki. Simple and effective if done correctly as it was on Sunday.

    that is sort of what defensive players are supposed to do with a RB
