Bucs may consider signing Owens in offseason
    ESPN.com news services

Yes, Keyshawn Johnson drove Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Jon Gruden nuts in Tampa, but league sources say don't be surprised if the Bucs seriously consider signing Terrell Owens, who will be released by the Philadelphia Eagles by next month, ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported.

The Bucs are lured by the idea of adding another big play receiver for young quarterback Chris Simms. The obstacles: The salary cap and Gruden somehow excusing what T.O. did to his friend Andy Reid.

Owens came to the Eagles in March 2004 after eight sometimes-controversial seasons in San Francisco. He was suspended last month for a series of infractions and critical public comments about quarterback Donovan McNabb and the organization, dating to his offseason demands for a new contract. An arbitrator later upheld the team's decision to deactivate him for the remainder of the season.

Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.

    >> I don't see it myself, but I'd sure hate it while they all got along.

I'd hate to have to cover him twice a year, but given that this is a team that did kick Key off a team, and got rid of McCardell, I have a hard time believing it would last more than a year, and would probably cripple them.

Yeah, if you cannot handle Keyshawn or Keenan, how in the hell does TO seem like an option???

Can you just imagine TO yelling at Chris Simms?

Also, i'd like to put money on Owens accusing Simms of being racist for not throwing to him at some point

Why screw up good chemistry between Simms and Galloway?

Personally I am rooting for TO to go to the Raiders. I would love to see them try to pacify him and Moss. I don't like the Raiders anyway so watching that crumble would be fun.

I sincerely doubt he'd go to Oakland. Too many top-tier wideouts on the roster already.

I cannot see him in Tampa Bay. They just don't have the money, although Gruden always likes to dream about possibilities. Anyone know what Jacksonville's cap looks like next season? I still like that as my sleeper pick for T.O.'s next destination. Wilford and Jones have stepped up, but they could still use a major upgrade at WR and JDR is just arrogant enough to think he can keep Owens under control.
