he has - he did his stint as an awful San Diego coach just like most of the uninspiring coordinators have - hell, they almost hired Vic Fangio instead of Kevin Gilbride. :thud:

Surprised Williamson never did a stint there - then again, his was in Tampa.

Saunders was replaced by Dan Henning, FWIW.

I like Al, though. To a point, his O is really just Martz's, but he tends to run it a little better. I figure Al will just resurface in Martz' staff, since I can't imagine Mike will go completely without takers. Of course, Edwards could keep Saunders, if he can't get Heimerdinger or instead of him.

WOW, I missed that one. Ok, so he was an unispiring HC for the Bolts. That and they must just not have that much confidence in him as a HC. I have just resigned myself to the fact that as long as Lamar Hunt is alive I will never be thrilled with the front office. I suppose though it could get a whole lot worse when he passes, so maybe I just need to shut up.

If he doesnt jumo ship I would love for Al to stay on as the OC, but I will be a bit surprised if he does.

Sources: Chiefs-Jets talks over Edwards stalled
    By Chris Mortensen

Talks between the Chiefs and Jets over Herm Edwards leaving New York to become the Kansas City coach have stalled, according to league sources.

The compensation package that has been on the table involved the Chiefs sending fourth- and fifth-round draft picks to the Jets, perhaps splitting the choices over two years, but Chiefs president Carl Peterson has been reluctant to close a deal, the sources added.

Peterson's reluctance, the sources believe, is based on his sense that Edwards is no longer welcomed in New York by Jets owner Woody Johnson, who is reportedly tired over Edwards' status.

However, a league source added that Peterson's gamble could cost him because if Edwards is fired, the Chiefs would have competition among other teams who would be interested in the Jets coach.

As one other source said, the deal is "always a phone call away."

I applied but the guy I work for is holding me out for a 6 pack of Mickeys and a carton of menthol light 100's.

Carl offered a Bojangles gift certificate and the talks broke down.

Maybe no white coaches will interview because they do not want to be the token interview. They know it is a foregone conclusion that they will hire Edwards.
