Exploiting NY's depleated LB corps with TE's.

Mangum needs to be on his game. Gaines, too. Look for Hoover more in the passing game.

i didn't know that was a new play. It got me thinking to '03 when we didn't open up the passing game until late into the season and playoffs. I know it was due in part to Jake's development, but maybe they have been holding back some intentionally just to get an advantage in the playoffs.

    Sometimes here, sometimes there

You give them way too much credit, holding back for an anvantage in the po when you ain't got their yet is really dumb.

I do, tho give them some credit for opening up everything at times, like in the po 2003.

The fact Henning did something 'new', like the 'Phillie Formation' For the NCFC game was purty cool.

Maybe Henning has been paying attention, and others have brought the Denver style to his attention, like us in TBR......

    Nah...

yeah, that would be dumb. but we may still be able to surprise some people if they continue to make these kind of adjustments in the running game.

I didn't think so. It definitely wasn't a Denver or Atlanta type running play because it obviously wasn't zone blocking. Moreover, I don't believe the play was designed for Foster to cut it back where he did at all, that's just something he occasionally does. He's done similar things in a number of other games, the difference on this particular play was that Atlanta's SS missed the tackle and the FS got sucked too far in and took a bad angle, allowing Foster to get the edge instead of stopping him for a five yard gain.

I still haven't seen us run away from the lead blockers much at all unless it was a Foster improvisation (which he usually doesn't do when he should, and does when he shouldn't, which is something I wish we'd incorporate into the offense. I'd like to see more single-back looks as well, just so we aren't constantly keying the defense as to where we're running to.

And as far as the Giants are concerned, if we tackle well and don't get out of position on defense, we'll win. New York wins when they get big plays, and Tiki has had most of them. They're not a very good possession offense, so if we make them ground out long drives, we should come out on top. Obviously limiting our own turnovers and causing some by them would be huge as well.
