    Saints | Returning to Louisiana

Tom Osborn, of the San Antonio Express-News, reports New Orleans Saints owner Tom Benson and NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue have reached an agreement to return the team to its state-owned training facility in Metairie, La., after the season ends Sunday, Jan.1. Tagliabue will reportedly inform the team at a meeting with them Friday, Dec. 30. League spokesman Greg Aiello declined comment. The agreement likely eliminates the possibility of the Saints playing home games at the Alamodome in San Antonio in 2006. Aiello said the league would announce the Saints' schedule in January. The Saints likely will play most of their home schedule in Baton Rouge and perhaps the Louisiana Superdome. I feel for the folks down there but this is totally stupid in my opinion. They have a lot more important things to do than worry about a fucking NFL team staying. It's not like the natives down there give a rats ass about the Saints anyway judging by their attendance

I look at it as perhaps a farewell to New Orleans for the Saints. I do agree with you though, they have other, more important, worries. I certainly hope that they don't schedule us for the first game back in the Superdome. Let's all cross our fingers.

Good news. The NFL will help them financially. If they go back, make a legit effort, and the support is not there, then they can move with my blessings. But not now. Good for Benson for putting his ill feelings aside.
