I'd be surprised if Young was rated that high by anyone. Behind Leinart, some have Jay Cutler as the 2nd best.

No, I don't think that the Texans would be able to trade down that far and get Leinart.

I also think that Bush isn't the absolute lock for greatest player ever that they're selling him as.

As for what Houston should do? IMO, they have a good enough back. The QB should be evaluated by the new coach, and the system should be taken into account; if they're going West Coast, then maybe Bush is a better fit; but would Carr be?

Their biggest needs, IMO, are another WR and a dominant OT. They could do worse than to upgrade at RB (Davis is 17th in rushing, with only 2 TDs to add; 24th in Football Outsiders' ranking) or QB (Carr is 19th, and an awful 38th in Football Outsiders' ranking), and I could see them doing that at either spot; the problem is, they'll still have problems at 2nd WR, OL, and most likely have some defensive retooling if they do upgrade at QB or RB.

So yeah, if possible, I'd trade down some, preferably for the OT (though some suggest that there's going to be good enough OT talent at the top of 2). Unfortunately, the Texans have screwed themselves out of getting a true playmaker because they've consistently neglected their OL in the last few years outside of overpaying Todd Wade.

What would Davis bring as trade value?

Could they Bush and trade Davis for OT help? I don't really know if they really know what Carr can do, I mean shit he spends more time on the ground than any other player on the team. I don't recall them ever having a decent line in his 4 years there. He has averaged over 50 sacks a year against him. Outside of Johnson, not sure if he has had any other WR to speak of.

I do wonder with an Oline and another weapon or two what he might be able to do.

Vince Young said he is returning for his senior season. I could see him staying unless he wins the title, then he should go. They'll be ranked #1 unanimously next year.

Definitely Reggie Bush. There are seven rounds in which they can draft offensive line help.

Davis has had some injury issues, but I wonder how a pretty slight Reggie Bush will hold up in the NFL as well. Plus I think Davis is a Priest Holmes in waiting, meaning that he'll explode as a running and receiving threat as soon as he gets behind a good offensive line. He's not going to draw much in a trade right now, but I would be absolutely thrilled if we were to get him for a third round pick or so.

Really it's an absolute no-brainer from a football perspective that the Texans should trade down and accumulate as many picks as possible to address their many holes. Even if it's only moving down to #3 and taking D'Brickashaw Ferguson, that would make far more sense than taking an insanely talented RB with some durability questions when you already have a very talented RB with durability questions behind a craptastic offensive line. The problem is that there is going to be enormous public pressure in Houston to take Reggie Bush, regardless of the football merits. That's why I think they end up taking Bush and dealing Davis, even though that probably consigns them to another five years of losing.

Its already bought and sold at ESPN land that Bush is the best running back, ever. If you buy that, then yes, you'd be foolish to trade.

    Fine with me.

Houstons problems are more than one player can change IMO, that and the fact that I like Davis as their RB and I vote trade down as well. Grab several extra picks and maybe you start to see this team taking steps forward instead of backwards. Of course who they hire makes a big differance also, if it is Norv Turner (assuming he is fired) then.....well all bets are off.
