If he ever breaks a long one for a score up the middle then Collin can complain. Here's an interesting stat for you. The more carries Foster gets the worse he gets:

    #Atts: Atts/Yrds/Lg/TD/1sts
    1-10: 126/4.1/30/0/15
    11-20: 52/3.6/11/0/10
    21-30: 15/1.9/6/1/1

I agree this game is important, as much for winning in the house of horrors as much as making the playoffs. The alternative is a marked collapse, which will be remembered a long time.

    The ax hangs high....

Let's stop bullshitting around. If the Panthers do not win on Sunday and at least get into the playoffs, there will be serious coaching and personnel changes. This team may not be as talented as it was originally cracked up to be, but this late collapse, especially vs. Dallas, will frost Jerry Richardson's ass like nothing you have ever seen before. This proud man can take a lot, but being embarrassed (15-yard cushions on Keyshawn Johnson, for instance) is not one of them. If the 'Cats blow it in Atlanta, expect a very interesting off-season.

    Sometimes here, sometimes there

I can't imagine that if we were to even blow it in mexico Sunday that Fox would be fired. There's a very small amount of HC talent out there and plenty of teams who will be looking (and prolly standing pat themselves because they might realize what they have is better).

However, it wouldn't be beyond the real of possibility that we might see some changes in staff like OC or DC. Not that I'm calling for that, tho I've had my problems with them for various reasons, and true, the fact as colin says, the coaches don't play and fail to execute. It wouldn't bother me in the least, tho.

No matter what anyone says, I think our playcalling on both sides of the ball, as well as adjustments, has been less than stellar for the past four years or more. In 03, we went to the SB and played well in spite of that fact- and the ground game went decent tho the other teams knew what we were gonna do, predictably. The guys just played to a higher level when the post season hit. Our team does not have the most talent, no, but we do have a playoff caliber team talentwise.

Many games it seems that the talent stayed in the lockerroom when the guys took the field, and it's not just the folks on this here measage board that have been noticing. And no, it's not just the coaches fault, but fuk, something's gotta be done about it.

And they need to trade labia's contract this week with spoons. I'm as pissed about that as anything the fo has ever done.

OK, worst case happens. You don't make wholesale coaching changes to 10-6 teams, particuarly two years away from a Super Bowl run. Its this kind of spoiled attitude that gives Charlotte sports fans the worst reputation. You simply attack the needs, and we have plenty. Offensive line, running back, and reciever certainly. I'd say this year, coaches have at least out performed Hurney. Fox and both coordiantors are safe from being fired.

Coach is 100 percent right about the labia, but I'm not sure what we can do about it.

    >>I think we can replace Reyes with Mathis and be ok.

I'm sure that's why he was drafted where he was. A year of weight training and coaching for a talented player, learning the system, their is reason to hopee. I don't know that Hart can move in to take Mitchell spot, and I don't know if I want to depend on that.

Seth McKinney (Dolphins) isn't a bad player, and he's a FA. He is coming of surgery, but it didn't sound terribly serious. They only IRed him because their's only a couple weeks left in the season.

Did you see Wharton whiff on the DE in the Dallas game deep in our territory??
Mugged Jake and he fumbled. Wharton didn't even slow hm down.

Maybe Jake could have stepped up but he would have to have flittered like a butterfly to do it.

I do agree, that we don't need wholesale changes even if we lose to Atlanta and don't make the playoffs, but I do think there needs to be some type of change.

If we end up 10-6(losing the last game), imo, what I am most frustrated with is the playcalling at times and how the team has played/prepared in certain games. We could have very easily been 6-10 when you look at the Green Bay, Arizona, Detroit and Buffalo games. But we won those, so a win is win, but those games were just too close for what they should have been.

Then you talk about the last Bucs game along with the Dallas game, to me those are two games we should have been ready to kick some ass and we didn't.

I would like to think with a few key pickups via FA and the draft, some minor changes in our coaching staff and a little more consistency we would be a dominant 11-5 team or better.

Fox likes to play close to the vest, and week in and week out games tend to be close in the NFL. Most blowouts are a product of a team ill prepared or injury riddled.

And yeah, Wharton's been consistently inconsistent.

What margin do you consider a close game?
