    Smith hit with fine

    Carolina wide receiver Steve Smith has been fined $15,000 by the NFL for "improper physical contact with a game official," a league executive said Wednesday evening.

    Smith was ejected late in the third quarter of Saturday's game with Dallas after he placed his hands on line judge Mark Steinkerchner as Smith pleaded his case over what he thought was a late hit by a Cowboys' defender.
    Smith will not be suspended.

    Cornerback Ken Lucas may also be fined for post-game criticism of officials, but the source who commented on Smith's fine had heard nothing concerning Lucas as of Wednesday.

    The NFL must fire the official who did the panthers game on sat.The cowboys pay the REF end of story

    Ronde Barber didn't get ejected and got $30,000 fine. Go figure.

    A guy did that once to pay his court fee. The judge made him stay and count them out one at a time with the cleric and wait for a receipt. It was over $1000 fine. Ouch.

    rusty wallace sent an armored truck with $50k in pennies to pay a fine once.

    No, I did save it but didn't really send a letter. If I woulda seen him on the street I woulda punched him out though. For the roughing the kicker :mad: , not the ejection.
