    Injuries

    From Kffl:

    OFFENSE
-- RB Warrick Dunn's (hamstring) Week 17 status has yet to be determined. Falcons head coach Jim Mora said he would be shocked if Dunn did not play.
-- OL Kynan Forney (ankle) may not be able to play in Week 17 and his status has yet to be determined.
-- OL Matt Lehr (ca! lf) may not be able to play in Week 17 and his status has yet to be determined.
    DEFENSE
-- DL Antwan Lake (shoulder) is out for Week 17.
-- DL Brady Smith (toe) is expected to go on Injured Reserve, which will end his 2005 season.
-- CB DeAngelo Hall (shoulder) had his arm in a sling following the Week 16 game and is not expected to play in Week 17.
-- S Antuan Edwards (ribs) returned to the Week 16 game and played at cornerback after DeAngelo Hall (shoulder) went out. Edwards should play in Week 17, but it is unsure if he will play at safety or cornerback.

The Hall injury is huge, IMO. He is very good, and would present problems for us.

Brady Smith has been a huge loss for them, as well. Great edge rusher.

Other than running the stretch play, and a few counters, their offensive line is really a sieve. You take Dunn's versatility out of the mix, and that line is exposed for the fraud that they are. That said, Forney might be the best they have, and losing him would be huge as well.

Jason Webster has been abused all season. I remember the New England game in particular. He was torched, namely by Branch, for most of the game.

Buccaneers | Clayton could miss the playoffs too
    Mon, 26 Dec 2005 20:58:51 -0800

The <A href="http://www.kffl.com/link/134">Tampa Tribune reports if the Tampa Bay Buccaneers make the 2005 NFL playoffs, WR Michael Clayton (toe) may not be a part of it. As noted earlier, Clayton is not expected to play in the team's season finale against the New Orleans Saints, Buccaneers head coach Jon Gruden said Monday, Dec. 26, during his weekly news conference. In addition, Gruden said Clayton's status for the playoffs is in doubt.

Buccaneers | Clayton has been missing
    Mon, 26 Dec 2005 20:58:51 -0800

The Tampa Tribune reports Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Michael Clayton is missing. As noted earlier, Clayton has not been seen since the latter part of the 2004 NFL Season.

    Panthers | Colbert out, too.
    Mon, 26 Dec 2005 20:58:51 -0800

The Charlotte Observer reports Carolina Panthers WR Keary Colbert will be placed on injured reserve. Panthers head coach John Fox said that Colbert will be sidelined indefinately with heart failure, and broken bones on all ten fingers. "It's unfortunate, but hands and heart are key for a receiver in the NFL," said Fox. "We will evaluate him day-to-day, but it does not appear that he will have a heart or pair of hands anytime soon."

    Sometimes here, sometimes there
Only if it's his day for Jake to decide to throw to.

The dallas game once again proved Jake has only one receiver he consistently looks to, or wants to throw to. It was Carter.
Smitty was wide ass open on numerous plays, and carter was covered well- yet jake couldn't help himself. He thru to carter, incomplete.

Why can't our O line actually open a hole?

Why doesn't Foster, who seems to break arm tackle well at times, run with any power? Anybody including smallish corners who square up on him stop him in his tracks most times (yeah I know, he's had some wooooo runs, but they are very few and far between).

Why no screens the past three weeks?

    Why no Goings saturday?

Why has colbert and gamble caught the suck ass this year?

Why can't jake feel pressure and not hold the ball so long?

Why can't mcree and some our CBs (other than lucas) play the ball at all? They have had so many underthrown balls come their way, had they just looked at all they'd have some free ints. eg.= The long pass to Glenn that mcree covered, and glenn had to wait on the ball and it almost hit mcree in the head. mcree is awful in coverage, and he's slow. The only thing he does well is hit (and not tackle, then he does the stoopid muscle flex (which got old the first time he did it).

Why can't gamble cover in man?

Why can't we cover as a team in zone?

We have to be the worst 10-5 team I've ever seen. If it weren't for an easy schedule, we'd be lucky to have 7-8 gmaes right now.

That's why I'm frustrated and unhappy with them, no matter what their record is. I have no faith that they will show up. Sure, our record is better, but we played better last year, consistently, especially at the end, with backups.

We really have not improved this year at all. Easy schedule and Wahle (who really has not impressed me) and Lucas (who has) is the only reason we are 10-5, and not 7-8.

Jake is not getting better. He's worse.

Smitty is better, but he can't do it by himself. Proehl has been clutch at times, yes. But he's not on the field all that much either.

Our O struggles and sucks. It's like henning forgets from week to week what we do well.

And I don't know what to think of the d this week. They got beat.

We have no reason to be in the po, imo. Cause this year's team doesn't rise to the occasion like the last two year's teams when the stakes are high (well it started with the last game last year as far as suck).

And our FO has done terrible of late as far as resigning player who shouldn't be, and not those that should, imo.

I'm just pure pissed that our talent level is there, but our play is not. The NFC is soft as hell, with the exception of Seattle and Chic (d), and there's no reason we shouldn't be 3rd seed right now or better, except awful play when it mattered.

I honeslty have no use for our OC nor our DC. Sure, brilliant plan for mexicans once. and that's been it.

Tampa is gonna win the south with simms and a D that is the worst they've had since gruden has been there.

funny, but at his added weight, I don't see anyone being able to not find Clayton. I dunno if it was intentional or not, but it's not like he was exactly small before.

Still, Hilliard's 7.9 ypc is awful and no one will respect him as a #2. Galloway's going to get shut down in the playoffs.

Hall also relieves the Falcons of their better return man. It's not that he's fielded tons of punts, but he's dangerous.
