we won't draft a RB becuase we have Shelton

We won't draft a DT because we have Carstens and Ellison

We won't look at a WR because we Have Carter.

we won't make a serious affort to re-sign Witherspoon because we have Thomas Davis

Not sure about Shelton. At this point, theres no way they can have any real faith in him.

Carter wont be enough, youre right about that. Proehl is going to be gone, and it will only be Smitty and Carter out there with any true shot of making a catch. Colbert cemented today that he should be cut before next training camp, and that makes it official. The new era has blown every goddamned second round theyve had in the draft.

We need someone who can evaluate talent here, bad.

    KEARY COLBERT [IMG]
    Position: WR
    Class: Sr
    School: Southern Cal
    Conference: Pac-10
    Ht., Wt.: 6'1, 207
    40 Time: 4.62
    Grade: 3.81

    Selected by Carolina Panthers
    Round 2, pick 30 (62 overall)

POSITIVES: Sure-handed receiver that always comes away with the reception. Fluid releasing off the line of scrimmage, runs effective routes and comes back to the ball out of breaks, giving his quarterback a nice target. Shields opponents with his frame or gets vertical in a crowd for the high pass.

Off topic, but today Del Rio got HIS team to the playoffs. I know Fox got his team to the Superbowl, but I dunno. Is Del Rio a better HC?

I say draft the best scrappy white guy you can find from a midwest school in round 1 to start C/RG as a rookie. I wanted Baas badly (as well as Heath Miller) in the last draft and we could using either right about now.

I was way wrong about the Del Rio impact.

I'll never have / never will be satisfied with our OC/QB combination.

I'll let you have that for now, when he's where he was drafted to be I'll re-evaluate his play.

He is where he was drafted to be. You never spend a second round pick with the idea that the guy will only be a #3 slot receiver. And yeah I'm busting your chops a little because you pimped Colbert more than anyone else, but I've certainly missed on my fair share of players. I wish he had worked out.
