Some of that was late with Goings, but still. It was nice to see us shorten the game with the lead and pound them.

Colbert, or most recievers, would have been tackled for either a loss or a short gain. He blew past the end, got a block, sped past someone else and got in the endzone. That was 20.

For the most part, we got 3-4 yards. I don't like the back spin thing Foster does though. 8 rushing first downs is nothing to sneeze at.

    We were good.

They weren't that good against the run, so let's not pretend we're gonna put 200 yards on Dallas.

But I'll take it. One welltimed trick play, a scatter of Foster runs, and then we finished wisely with a durable back so as to not put a ton of carries on a guy who's fragile.

20 of it was from Smith.

That leaves the total at 141. Better than average.

Yeah, we did ok, but Piper was correct to note that those late runs where the Saints basically gave up on defense boosted our total. And meatpile's right too, in that we should have a ton of yards when we had 43 rushes (including the reverse and Jake's TD). So our RBs averaged 3.4 yards per carry. That's not very good.

    3.4 YPC is not good.

    141 yards rushing is.

The point was that we could get 141 rushing yards in any game we wanted if we just ran the ball on every down. We need to be more effective per rush or we're not making legitimate improvement.

3.4 ypc is enough to get a first down in three runs. Third and 3.2 is not too hard to deal with. I hope we keep mixing in Goings. Maybe that way Foster stays healthy.
