I thought I was lucky. I didn't get to my seat until seconds before kickoff.

Than I had to watch that game.

    Not lucky enough.

    SCOTT SAYS | SCOTT FOWLER

    • Everything was a little off Sunday. Not only were the Panthers bad, but the national anthem singer was poor, and "Mascot Football" -- normally one of the halftime acts I actually look forward to each season -- was way too defense-oriented and bo-o-o-ring.

    PANTHERS DIGEST | STAN OLSON

    • Christy McDonald sang the national anthem, or at least part of it. She missed a verse while searching for the right octave. Ouch.

The guys I went with were in line next to her while getting some beers. They said she was pretty pissed at herself.
