Yeah we always have TONS of Atlanta fans (though to me this game seemed slightly less) since it's drive-able for them. They left in droves pretty early. People do drift down to lowers, and when the score gets that lopsided, there are always going to be early departures to beat traffic. I don't care what the score is, I can't imagine missing a minute of the game. I even time food/bathroom breaks for time outs and reviews and such so that I don't miss any live action. But it's not just us, it happens all over the league for both good and bad teams. Actually my folks left early, but when you're flying to NY on work related matters, there's not much choice - a lot of fans wouldn't have bothered to go at all. It killed them to leave THIS game early!

    Empty seats

I can see upper deckers moving down in the second half
but the seats were still empty 10 minutes into the 1st qtr!

The lower bowl was full but lots and lots of "blue seats" were visible in the upper deck.

YOu would think that as big as that game was, the upper deck would be packed

It was a weird crowd outside. There was next to no one buying tickets on the street. My buddy got stuck with an extra that he couldn't get rid of, and after the game started, we didn't see anyone. Only saw four people buy tickets all day, and we were out there from 12:30-1:15. I bet you could have gotten a club level for $20 at that point. We both figured that the place might be empty once we got in, but it was mostly packed. Loud and rowdy too. The only thing I can figure is the spectre of rain or sleet kept people who didn't have tickets from coming out. We usually tailgate but decided to just cook at home because of the weather.

If you had come out, you could have gotten in for $5 or free after kickoff. I'm not saying that doesn't happen in Charlotte, but it doesn't happen when we are good. It was weird, I'm sure this weekend when we don't have an extra ticket there will be hundreds trying to get in lol.

Empty seats are probably coming from fans like the lady I bought my season tickets from. She didn't give two shits about the Panthers so she sold them to us. Now that playoff tickets came out, she says she misses going so she's keeping the playoff tickets. So two rowdy ass fans in 517 will be replaced by a couple who don't really give a shit. Sorry for the rant, just had to get it out of my system.
