I'd be surprised if those two didn't get re-signed where they are, particularly Batch.

i think one of the tampa qbs will be on the market. simms contract might be up, and there's always been talk about him going to the jets. griese is a gruden guy, so even though simms has done pretty ok, i think he or rattay will be the odd man out.

Perhaps, but I'd actually be surprised if Garcia stays in Detroit. After what he's been through the last two seasons, I imagine he'll value organizational stability as much as anything else. Plus, I'm not sure they'll want him.

I've heard rumors from Falcons fans that Matt Schaub will be shopped for trade bait in the offseason. He's going to be a RFA. I don't see him coming here, but he would shake up the FA field a little. I was suprised that Tennessee was able to keep Billy Volek the other year. That guy should be starting somewhere.

I do like Garcia's toughness, and he did have a couple of excellent seasons in San Fran. But, personally, I would not want him having to start for our team at this point in his career.

I agree that Jake is overpaid, but we are better off with him than most other quarterbacks out there.

Actually I'm pretty sure that Schaub isn't going to be a RFA until after the 2006 season. His base salary for 2006 is listed as $385k, and it makes sense that he would be under contract for at least another season given that he was drafted in 2004. But yeah, the networks have been reporting that the Falcons will shop him around, but they want at least a first. I like the guy and wanted to draft him, but while I think he would be a solid QB, I can't justify giving up a first.

    B&B:
I understand that perspective because he does play ugly, but the more I read numbers and pass charts regarding his performance over the past couple of years, the more I'm convinced that bad teams and not a drop in skill have brought his numbers down. The very low number of bad decisions and poor throws he's made (plus stuff like the number of drops that he's had) really sound attractive to me right about now.

Maybe if we gave the Falcons you, with all your football godliness, they would give us Schaub.

Based on a handfull of fill in games you'd do that? Schaub has potential....but really if he wouldnt be willing to take a seat I wouldnt be inclined to dump Jake just yet for Schaub. Of course it's a mute point I think either way.
