    But why the penalty?

Well, then, if Irvin is indeed judged innocent until proven guilty, I wonder why the 1-week suspension?

This penalty is checken shit if you asked me. I mean either the guy is guilty and you fire him or in the case of Irvin, he is contracted or he isnt guilty and you do nothing.

I think the fact that he is contracted is the problem with them asking him to take a drug test, but really he should do it on his own....IF he were innocent.

The suspension was for not telling them about the arrest. They heard about it from the press. Makes them look like they're doing something. His contract is up after this year. They can just not renew it and avoid the mess of having to judge his guilt. Apparently some who are familiar with his situation believe his story.

This is not the same as either case referred to. MI did not try to destroy the ESPN crew, nor did he run down a player ridiculously.

Am I the only one who likes Irvin??? Yeah, he's full of shit, but he's entertaining. He is the voice of the pro athelete, like it or not. I don't agree w/ 70% of the shit he says, but I like him. He's Barkley-esque.

I hope they keep him around. Who am I to judge- I like drugs and whores.

Jackson only did that because he got no end of shit for not challenging Limbaugh's statement on air. In fact, Jackson actually sort of endorsed the idea that McNabb was overrated immediately after Limbaugh's statement, although I think he denied the racial angle. After the show I remember McNabb blasting Jackson for not standing up for him (one of the few times McNabb has ever blasted someone publicly) and he caught lots of hell from others as well.

And as for Charles Barkley, he's funny and insightful. Michael Irvin is a marble-mouthed jackass.
