Second Wahle. He keyed what running game we had, and got us 7 first downs rushing.

Foster did have over 100 total yards.

7 more run plays than pass plays for 113 yards. I'll take that.

The Defence. Kept them out of the endzone. The offense did just enough not to lose

Jake. I thought he overdid the dump offs, but I was glad to see them. Even though we trailed most of the game, I was a lot more relaxed and enjoyed it a hell of a lot more just because we didn't do anything stupid (aside from Gaines' penalties). He stuck by the gameplan and made the play when he needed to, so kudos to the Cajun.

Most won't agree, but Carstens played his ass off today. Started out with a couple tackles and a sack in the first quarter before the Bills adjusted.

He plays hard. And the kid is strong. He's not totally without talent.

He did wear down a bit. They ran at him twice on trap plays and gained 19 yards. Doesn't have ideal size.

Buckner did in fact play one of his better games this year. Did all the dirty work today. Absorbed blockers, took up space, batted balls, and even made some plays down the line.

Pep not only got some pressure, but made two or three big plays vs the run. Had a couple for a loss, and blew up that outside run on 3rd and short to force the FG.

Draft had a decent day. Took the one bad angle, but he read and filled the hole nicely.

Watching Draft kinda makes me pained for the big Morgan contract still. Honestly, I'm not often for the ideal of "if we didn't pay __________ and got some slug off the street, we'd be as good" theory, but we got Draft for a song, and while he's not some random slug, he's playing about as well as Morgan.

Carstens did well getting the sack. I won't go apeshit about him, and I have a hard time believing that he caused the Bills to adjust to him, but I'll take that day out of him any day. We still need help there, but at the worst it means that Carstens has to actually work for his starting spot. If he's that good, it shouldn't be an issue.

I dunno if I can gameball "safe Jake". I'm glad he's able to do a number of things that are safer - makes me wonder why he was never given those options before, whether he'd use them that much or not - but he just seemed neutered. Thanks for not throwing the game away, but wish we could've put this away as we should've. It was, however, nice to see us calling plays that allowed us to sustain drives rather than take tons of shots; We also got a lot of guys involved, which I like. The problem is, Jake's deep ball, Smitty's speed, and this offense's ability to call the deep ball at the right time is a cornerstone that we kinda left behind. Only a couple balls that were past the first down marker.

Same for Foster. 23/77? 100+ scrimmage yards is great, and we know he can do things in the passing game. But 3.3 yards/carry isn't laudable, especially when it comes without the one or two touchdowns that Davis gives you with similar stats. Honestly, Davis was better for us early, even if that last carry did bring his stats down a bit (never saw the 6th carry until I looked it up - only remembered 5 for 23; the stuff on his last carry still counts, obviously). Thanks for carrying the load, but hard to give out a game ball for it.

Wahle had a fine day. Might be worth chipping it out to the entire line, some of which don't deserve it, notably Wharton, which is a good reason not to do so.

So who? Gamble, which could've been Witherspoon's (it would've been a hard catch, regardless); Buckner was key inside and Peppers was brilliant a few times; ahh, fuck it. Give it to Jake, too. Might as well.
