If there was a gun to my head this morning, and I had to predict things, here's how I would see the seedings come January:

    T-1. Carolina...........13-3

    T-1. Seattle...........13-3

    3. NY Giants........10-6

    4. Chicago...........9-7

    5. Dallas............10-6

    6. Tampa...........10-6

I think that Tampa may sweep Atlanta (they will at least split with them). I have them sweeping New Orleans, dropping one to Chicago, falling at New England (should be a fun game), and dropping one at Carolina. That leaves them at 10-6.

I would like to think that Giants are sound enough offensively to avoid what they did against the Vikes again. Defensively, they lack playmakers and they are not that good, but they sure as hell can score points and run the football. They will sweep Philadelphia, IMO. They will beat Dallas and Washington, too, IMO--which will put them at 5-1 in the division and 10-6 overall.

Chicago has a few tough games down the stretch, starting this week. They also travel to Pittsburgh, and host Atlanta. I think they will hold on in that division, though Minnesota seems to be playing better. Never know.

Dallas can sweep NYG with a win on Dec 4, but I see NY winning that game at home. I don't know. Dallas just does not excite me. I know we had a similar kind of run in 2003 with the late wins, but they just look bad on offense. Alos, the way they lost some games this year (Seattle, Washington, Oakland) concerns me. I have them winning four more games this year (Det, KC, STL, and Wash).

Seattle's running game is too sound right now for them to just start dropping games like they usually do. There are six more winnable games on that schedule (SFO--twice, Ten, GB, PHI, NYG). Given the fact that none of those five teams are particularly sound against the run, I think they will win them all.

Carolina will win 13 games, IMO. Six more down the stretch: Chicago, Buffalo, Tampa, Dallas, New Orleans, and one against Atlanta. We will drop one to Atlanta. Objectively, we overmatch every one of the teams left on our schedule. I am going to assume that Atlanta will beat us once, simply becasue they always play us well. New Orleans should be picked apart. No excuses on that one.

I don't know. I was bored. Usually, I hate hypotheticals, but I could see it playing out that way. We will find out soon enough.

Hammer if your records are correct - Chicago will host either Tampa or Dallas in a Chicago January home game for a playoff. I'd asy that gives a significant edge to the Bears....

    that'd be nuts.

No, I wouldn't, which is sort of the whole point. Nice job coming back from your ignorant statement with a ridiculous hypothetical and an insult, though. I'm sure no one noticed that you were dead wrong.
